* London fashion week was bright colour & bold prints from designers such as House of Holland, Burberry, Giles and House of Deréon, with the best goodie bags and celeb front row seats Kanye West, Sienna Miller, Ellie Goulding ,Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at Burberry . Beyonce & Tina Knowles had their collection (House of Deréon) shown at Selfridges where fans waited for a chance to see B, she had the best goodie bags with a lil’ golden bottle of Pommery champagne. Kelly Brookes & Jessie J were also present at LFW, seated at the Giles show an odd pair if I say so myself.
* Rihanna shocked fans when she got on the Jubilee line train on route to her very own Loud Tour show at the 02 Arena. Fans were in a frenzy posting tweets and messages - it just goes to show how down to earth she is, you gotta love RiRi (her new album 'Talk that Talk' is out now!)
* We were all shocked when at the end of Beyoncé's performance at the MTV video music awards she announced her pregnancy for JayZ by rubbing her bump, but a few months after, while sitting down to be interviewed by Molly Meildrum for her show, what seemed to be a folding belly bump sparked rumours that she was actually not pregnant, but a acting as a surrogate instead! Either way, its seems rumours won’t spoil the much awaited birth and the baby will be loved regardless.
* The big news was when Vybz Kartel was charged with Murder in Jamaica, for apparently killing Bossie (Barrington Burton). He was arrested on charges of possession of an illegal fire arm for the 27 year old businessman Bossie while he was standing with friends along Walkers Avenue in Gregory park!
* I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - we saw Towie Mark Wright flirting up a storm with jungle Mate Emily Scott so it was typical Mark behaviour, Mark was bookies favourite to Win but we Saw Dougie Poynter (Mc fly) grab the crown as “King of the jungle” I was so happy for him to be honest after the shit year he had with Frankie Sandford (The S
aturdays) when she ended it with him and he decided to go to rehab. Things seem to be looking up for him with his current new woman Lara. Go Dougie!!
* When we all found out that Kim Kardashian was Marrying NBA player Kris Humphries, I was saying I hoped they would be happy together. I think I spoke too soon as the happiness didn’t even last 72days. Rumour has it that it was all a publicity stunt & that Kris was divorcing Kim on the grounds of fraud . According to California law, a nullity is granted if the court finds that no valid marriage ever took place. Sad, sad, sad. We hope she eventually really does find happiness and real love.
* Xfactor had a whole new line up this year Gary, Tulisa, Kelly & Louis. I admit I think the show wasn't as good I missed Simon LOL, but I did however enjoy having kelly in his place. We were all shocked when Tulisa targeted Misha B saying she had been a bully live on air giving the audience a negative opinion of the contestant. Who knows, maybe she could have won if it was done behind and not in front of the camera SMH. Then we saw Frankie break some rules by partying like a rock star which ultimately resulted with him being sent packing from the show. To
add more controversy to the show HMV put up Amelia Lily's 'winner's single' up days before the final leading us to believe Xfactor results were fixed hmmm! Either way she didn't win, Tulisa’s Girls Little Mix take 1st place, the 1st ever girl band to Win xfactor . Well done! Us girls rock ;)
* The Riots - Mark Duggan was apparently shot down by a police man as he thought he was going to shoot him, but the bullet turned out to be from the officer. With his grieving family, friends and the neighbourhood of North London’s Tottenham being furious at the killing of an innocent young black man, they took to the streets and demanded answers outside the police station. With little response given, it seemed the general public would begin their own rebellion. Neighbouring towns within the cities of London, Birmingham and Nottingham took to rioting, smashing up shops , looting TVs, iPads, phones, trainers, food , nappies, you name it, it was taken. Family homes and business were burned down and left in ruins in London, even I was scared to leave my house as I didn’t know where they were targeting next. It was only finally after 5days that control was taken back of the streets. The riots were certainly a shock and major highlight for the UK in 2011.
